High-performing retail traders at Mirae Asset Securities favored Samsung Electronics common shares on Wednesday morning while taking profits on the company’s preferred stock, extending a split trading pattern for a second consecutive session.

Samsung Electronics ranked as the most heavily net-bought stock among the brokerage’s top-performing clients through 11 a.m., according to data published by Mirae Asset. The group consists of the top 1 percent of clients by investment return over the previous month. Samsung’s common shares traded at 250,000 won at that time, up 0.60 percent from the previous session.

The buying came as investors looked for bargains after a pullback and remained cautious ahead of the US Federal Open Market Committee’s policy decision. The pattern suggested that some active traders retained confidence in the common shares despite recent market pressure linked to interest rates and questions about the pace of artificial intelligence investment.

G2Gbio was the second-most net-bought stock in the group, trading 3.62 percent lower at 33,250 won as buyers entered during a short-term correction. Hyundai Motor placed third even as its shares fell 2.18 percent to 359,000 won. Olix, Samsung E&A and Hanmi Pharmaceutical also appeared among the leading net purchases.

Samsung Electronics preferred shares headed the net-selling list. They were up 2.14 percent at 191,100 won, but profit-taking followed recent outperformance driven by expectations of stronger shareholder returns. Activist fund Life Asset Management had proposed that Samsung use its remaining 2026 shareholder-return funds to repurchase and immediately cancel preferred shares.

SK hynix was the second-most heavily sold stock among the top traders, despite rising 1.45 percent to 1,714,500 won. Hyundai Glovis, KEPCO Engineering & Construction, Naver and LG Electronics followed on the selling side.

The common-versus-preferred split repeated the previous day’s behavior. On Tuesday, the same client group bought Samsung common stock during weakness while selling preferred shares into their rally. The two-day pattern highlights how traders were distinguishing between bargain opportunities in the common stock and short-term gains in the preferred issue rather than making a single directional bet on Samsung.

Mirae Asset publishes the rankings through its mobile trading platform using real-time, previous-day and five-day data. The brokerage says the information reflects client transactions rather than its own investment view and does not guarantee returns or suitability for other investors.
