BLACKPINK’s Lisa Releases Six-Track Solo EP ‘Press Play’

BLACKPINK member Lisa has released her first solo EP, ‘Press Play,’ a six-track project led by ‘Tarantino’ and following the success of her 2025 album ‘Alter Ego.’

BLACKPINK member Lisa has released “Press Play,” a six-track solo EP that extends her work beyond the group and places a cinematic concept at the center of her latest project.

The record is led by “Tarantino” and also includes “Sawadika,” “V12,” “Cobra,” “Cut U Off” and “Sweat.” The title track arrived with an action-oriented music video drawing on the heightened visual language associated with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. Together, the songs are presented as a compact project designed to unfold with the pace and imagery of a film.

“Press Play” is Lisa’s first solo EP and follows her full-length album “Alter Ego,” released in February 2025. The new release comes one year and eight months after that album, continuing a solo career that has developed alongside her activities as a member of BLACKPINK.

The EP also carries forward momentum from “Sawadika,” which was released in advance of the full project in September. The track debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new personal high for Lisa on the chart. Its title uses the Thai greeting for hello, while the song and its Bangkok-filmed visual foreground her Thai identity and global pop profile.

Lisa’s latest release follows another major solo milestone. At the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles in September, she won Best Pop for “Dream,” a song from “Alter Ego.” The award made her the first Asian solo artist to win the category.

The new EP arrives as the members of BLACKPINK continue to balance group commitments with individual music, acting and business projects. For Lisa, “Press Play” reinforces an approach built around tightly coordinated music and visuals, with each track contributing to a broader screen-inspired concept rather than functioning only as a stand-alone single.

Although the project is concise, its six-song format gives Lisa room to move between assertive rap delivery, pop hooks and performance-focused production. “Tarantino” serves as the centerpiece, while the remaining tracks broaden the record’s themes of speed, confidence and spectacle.

With “Press Play,” Lisa adds a new chapter to a solo catalog that has increasingly emphasized her identity as an international artist. The EP’s release also underscores the continuing reach of K-pop’s biggest acts, whose members can command global attention both together and through independent projects.
