Posco Future M Adopts Palantir Platforms for Companywide AI Push
The Korean battery materials maker will first deploy Palantir's Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform in sales and marketing, with broader manufacturing use under consideration.
Posco Future M has signed an agreement to introduce two Palantir Technologies platforms as the Korean battery materials maker seeks to use artificial intelligence across its operations.
The company said it will adopt Foundry, Palantir's data integration and analytics platform, and the US software company's Artificial Intelligence Platform. Foundry is designed to bring together information from different parts of an organization, while the AI platform combines enterprise data with generative AI to support decision-making and automation.
The first deployment will focus on sales and marketing. Posco Future M plans to use the software to improve its responses to customers and coordination across teams, then assess a phased expansion into manufacturing and other parts of the business. The company said employees will retain oversight and make final decisions as AI is embedded into workflows.
Posco Future M has set several performance targets for the initiative. It aims to improve customer responsiveness by more than 60 percent, raise manufacturing productivity by 30 percent and reduce product development time by 50 percent. Those figures are company goals rather than measured outcomes, and the wider rollout will depend on the results of the initial implementation.
The agreement follows a digital transformation strategy that Posco Future M announced in July and a companywide AI innovation program launched in August. The company ultimately wants to build a data-driven platform linking production, sales and supply-chain partners. It expects that closer integration could improve collaboration in the battery materials industry and create additional business opportunities.
The effort also includes employee training. Posco Future M said 87 workers who completed specialist training are identifying inefficient processes and developing AI-based tools. Projects selected through internal testing are expected to be introduced in stages by the first half of 2027 after workplace trials and employee feedback.
The partnership places the AI rollout within Posco Future M's broader attempt to compete not only through battery material performance but also through faster decisions, shorter development cycles and more closely connected operations. For Palantir, the agreement extends the use of its enterprise software into a major Korean battery materials producer. The practical impact will become clearer as the company tests the platforms in customer-facing work and decides whether to expand them across manufacturing.
