Incheon Extends Application Deadline for 2026 Childcare Director Training

Incheon Metropolitan City has announced an extension for the application period of its 2026 first-half in-service training programs for childcare center directors. The decision comes after several courses for the “Director’s General Job Training” (both Basic and Advanced levels), scheduled to commence from May 2026, experienced under-enrollment or had to be canceled.

This mandatory in-service training, known as “보수교육” (bosu gyoyuk), is crucial for childcare professionals in South Korea, particularly for those serving as or aspiring to be directors of daycare centers. It ensures they maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills essential for their roles, encompassing both fundamental administrative and advanced managerial competencies required by national regulations.

Extended Application Details

The application deadline for these specialized programs has been extended to April 27, 2026, from the original April 6, 2026. Prospective applicants are advised to note the updated schedule and available courses:

  • Director’s General Job Training (Basic)
    • Gyeongin Women’s University: June 15 – June 23, 2026 (18:30-22:05)
    • Gachon University: June 15 – June 23, 2026 (18:00-21:10)
    • Incheon KCEM Childcare Teacher Training Center: May 13 – May 21, 2026 (18:00-21:10)
    • Incheon National University: The course originally scheduled for June 8 – June 16, 2026, has been cancelled.
  • Director’s General Job Training (Advanced)
    • Gachon University: June 8 – June 16, 2026 (18:00-21:10)
    • Gyeongin Women’s University: June 15 – June 23, 2026 (18:30-22:05)

This extension provides an additional opportunity for childcare directors and relevant staff in Incheon to fulfill their professional development requirements.
