Incheon Metropolitan City, a major metropolitan area in South Korea, has announced a new initiative to safeguard the health of its citizens against the impacts of environmental pollution. Throughout 2026, the Incheon Metropolitan City Environmental Health Center will operate a specialized ‘Environmental Disease Care Program,’ offering complimentary health screenings and expert consultations to eligible residents.
This comprehensive program is designed to provide proactive health management and peace of mind for those concerned about potential health issues stemming from environmental factors. Participants will undergo a general health check-up, which includes essential physical measurements, blood and urine tests, and specific screenings for environmental harmful substances. Should medical professionals determine the need for further investigation, additional specialized tests will also be conducted.
The program’s services extend beyond just physical examinations. Each participant will also benefit from a one-on-one customized consultation with a medical specialist. These expert consultations aim to provide personalized advice and support based on the individual’s screening results and potential exposure risks, helping residents understand and effectively manage their environmental health.
To be eligible for this valuable program, applicants must be adults who have resided in Incheon for at least five years. All screenings and consultations will take place at the Gachon University Gil Hospital National Health Screening Center, a reputable medical facility known for its comprehensive health services. This collaboration ensures residents receive high-quality care from trusted institutions.
Enrollment in the ‘Environmental Disease Care Program’ requires a mandatory phone reservation. Interested residents should call 032-460-2070 to schedule their appointment. For any general inquiries regarding the program, individuals may contact the Environmental Safety Division directly at 032-440-3713. This initiative underscores Incheon City’s commitment to public health and its proactive approach to addressing environmental health concerns among its community members.
