The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) is inviting companies to an online briefing for its 2026 Emergency Safety and Security Service, a crucial program aimed at protecting vulnerable populations. The briefing, scheduled for early April 2026, seeks to engage potential operators for the fifth year of this essential service, which targets single elderly individuals and people with disabilities across the country.
The Emergency Safety and Security Service is designed to enhance the safety of beneficiaries by installing specialized in-home equipment. This includes communication devices, fire detectors, and activity sensors within their residences. In the event of an emergency, such as a fall, fire, or prolonged inactivity, the system automatically detects the situation and alerts relevant authorities, including Korea’s emergency services (119) and dedicated emergency care workers, ensuring swift assistance.
The online briefing, titled “2026 Emergency Safety and Security Service Business Briefing Utilizing In-home Equipment,” will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM KST. It is open to all companies interested in becoming project operators for this vital national service. Key topics to be covered include the project’s objectives, the main roles and responsibilities of selected operators, and the critical evaluation factors for the selection process.
Prospective participants must register in advance to receive the online meeting link. To register, interested companies should complete the designated application form (attached to the original Korean notice) and submit it via email to jungbs79@korea.kr, with a carbon copy (CC) to jwn0207@ssis.or.kr. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Instructions for joining the online briefing will be sent to registered participants on the afternoon of Thursday, April 2, 2026.
