The Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Government Legislation (MOGL) is set to host a series of briefing sessions for prospective bidders interested in developing a new Generative AI Legal Search System. This ambitious project aims to modernize the country’s legal information access, making it more efficient and user-friendly for both the public and legal professionals.
The initiative, officially titled the “Generative AI Legal Search System Construction Project,” is part of the broader “2026 National Legal Information Center Layer Advancement Project.” The National Legal Information Center, managed by the MOGL, is a crucial public platform providing access to South Korean laws, regulations, and legal precedents. The integration of generative AI is expected to significantly enhance search capabilities, comprehension, and overall interaction with complex legal texts.
Interested companies are invited to attend one of two identical briefing sessions, which will outline the project’s objectives and scope. The sessions will take place at the KTX Seoul Station meeting room (annex) – KTX being Korea’s high-speed rail system, making Seoul Station a central and accessible hub.
It is important to note that attendance at these briefing sessions is not mandatory and will not affect eligibility or participation in the subsequent bidding process. The primary purpose is to enhance understanding of the project’s goals and requirements.
To ensure smooth discussions and thorough responses, the MOGL encourages prospective bidders to submit any questions in advance via email to roheunyoung@korea.kr. All submitted questions will be addressed publicly during the respective briefing sessions. For further inquiries, Ms. Noh Eun-young of the National Legal Information Center at the Ministry of Government Legislation can be reached at 044-200-6791.
