Incheon Metropolitan City is inviting local businesses to apply for its “Good Price Shops” program for the first half of 2026. This initiative, managed by the city’s Economic Policy Division, aims to stabilize regional prices and support small businesses by recognizing establishments that offer quality services at reasonable prices.
The program designates businesses that contribute to price stability within their communities. Eligible establishments primarily include individual service providers such as restaurants, hair and beauty salons, and laundries. However, franchise businesses are explicitly not eligible to apply. Applicants will be evaluated based on two main criteria: price competitiveness, which accounts for 30% of the total score, and hygiene and cleanliness, making up the remaining 20%. To qualify for designation, businesses must achieve a minimum score of 40 out of a possible 50 points.
Designated “Good Price Shops” receive several benefits to encourage their continued commitment to affordable services. These include an official certification placard to display at their premises, annual financial support worth approximately 850,000 Korean Won (KRW) for essential supplies and public utility fees, and preferential treatment (bonus points) when applying for other small business management improvement projects. They also benefit from various promotional activities organized by the city to raise their profile among consumers. Please note that the exact benefits and their contents may be subject to change.
The application period for the 2026 first-half “Good Price Shops” program runs from April 6 to May 8, 2026. Businesses interested in applying should submit their applications to their respective local district (known as Gun or Gu) offices. The selection process involves an initial application, an on-site evaluation by the local district, a review of eligibility, and finally, a notification of the decision and distribution of the certification placard. For detailed information and specific application procedures, prospective applicants are strongly advised to contact their local district’s economic policy or support division directly.
