KEAD Launches 2026 Step-Up Camp for Disabled University Students

The Korean Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities (KEAD) has announced the recruitment of participants for its “2026 Disabled University Students Step-Up Exploration Camp.” This program, now in its third year, aims to provide valuable career exploration and personalized employment support opportunities for disabled university students during the upcoming summer break, fostering successful transitions into the workforce.

The camp is a collaborative effort between KEAD’s regional headquarters and ten leading universities across the nation that specialize in supporting students with disabilities. It offers a tailored approach to career development, designed to enhance participants’ vocational skills and connect them with potential employers.

Applications are open from May 8 to May 25 via the official website, https://stepupkead.com. Prospective participants will undergo an online application process followed by video interviews for final selection. A total of 50 disabled university students will be chosen nationwide to participate in this exclusive program.

To be eligible, applicants must be unemployed disabled youth, aged 34 or younger, who are currently enrolled in, on leave from, or have recently graduated from university. Priority will be given to graduating students actively seeking employment. The selected participants will engage in the three-month program from June to August, starting with 1:1 career exploration consulting, followed by a vocational competency enhancement camp, and a unique opportunity to visit two participating companies.

Participants will also receive a modest activity allowance, a souvenir, and a certificate upon completion of the program. Outstanding participants will be recognized with awards in an essay contest during a performance sharing event held after the camp concludes, further celebrating their achievements and encouraging future success.
